Navratri is about giving your gut a break, not nine days of fried potatoes and heavy carbs. If you want steady energy through your fast without the usual weight gain, this smoothie is for you. It’s creamy and naturally sweet, with complex carbs from makhana, protein from milk and nuts, and fiber from apple, chia and pomegranate. It also keeps you full for hours.
Why you’ll love it
- Sweetened only with dates, with no refined sugar
- Filling enough to replace a fried vrat snack
- Ready in 5 minutes, plus 15 minutes of soaking
All the ingredients laid out on a plate or board, labeled if you like.

Tips

- Some families don’t include chia seeds in vrat food, so skip them if that applies to you.
